Stokes Valley Fire Brigade's new website attracted 300-plus hits in its first week. It's inspired by other fire brigade websites and is a natural follow-on to having their history on an earlier site.

Firefighter Mike Vaney says the new site has 50 Flaming Years on the site, but this time with page breaks. Photos have been rescanned and added.

The site was launched on 19 July.

Street names (but without numbers) of the last 10 call-outs are listed. Fire safety and smoke alarm info, open days and how to join the brigade have their own sections, along with personnel photos from 1940 to now, and information on foundation members and long service awards.

There are also links to four other brigades in the region – Wainui, Porirua, and Newlands volunteers, and the Thorndon Fire Station – plus two others elsewhere in the country. There are many Stokes Valley brigade photos including several local fires plus staff and training.
